Heynow Software Forums _ General Discussion _ Speaking Triggers

Posted by: Ricky Buchanan Jun 26 2005, 03:12 PM

G'day,

I've just started with Savitar, previously I was using just telnet for the MUDding I do, and before that (on my Linux boxen) I used TinyFugue.

One thing I really like is that I can use speech in a trigger reply, for example I have a trigger that triggers on the text "Jenn has disconnected." in world Entropy, and it turns the whole line bold red, and speaks "Jenn just left Entropy MUD." as the text. This works fine.

But now I want to generalisze it so that for ANYbody leaving that mud it says "'name' just left Entropy MUD." I'm not sure how.

I have tried using the usual $$ in place of "Jenn" but the speech engine just says "just left Entropy MUD." with no name at all :(

Regards,
Ricky

If you set your matching string to:

$$name has disconnected.

And then select the "Speak this text exactly" radio button in the Audio Cue tab, and give it this to speak:

%%name has disconnected

you'll be all set.
