 Echo Input color choice, a choice other than blinding |

I always have echo input on and up until recently it was nice, just put the text I typed up there... Now I finally upraded from 1.2.whatever and suddenly it's surrounded by this blazing yellow. Could we get a choice of having it the old way? Or at least of what color it's surrounded by and the text is in?
